DESCRIPTION: A short-lived rune that allows a Shadowhunter to move about silently as required to avoid detecion.

DESCRIPTION: Provides those who wear it with bravery above and beyond that of a typical demon killer.
DEFLECT/BLOCK
DESCRIPTION: Prevents Shadowhunters from tracking its wearer through typical Shadowhunter tracking means.

DESCRIPTION: A mental rune that allows the wearer to protect their mind against magical intrusions such as encantos.
iratze/healing
DESCRIPTION: Alleviates pain, closes cuts/wounds, temporarily raises body temperature. Can be used in cases of minor health concerns or illnesses as well as recovery from magical or hallucinogenic properites.
nyx/night vision
DESCRIPTION: Allows the wearer the ability to see in the dark.
unseen
DESCRIPTION: Turns wearer invisible to mundanes and demons when activated.
vision
DESCRIPTION: When activated, enhances the wearer's sight and allows them to read from a distance or "zoom in" on something.
visible
DESCRIPTION: Makes a Shadowhunter visible to mundanes and demons.
Due to the angelic blood all Shadowhunters (or Nephilim) have, they are able to apply runes to their skin, the skin of other Shadowhunters, and physical objects. These runes give varied effects depending on their use. Many of them are temporary and fade over time if they are not used or retracted, while a select few are permanent. To non-Shadowhunters, they look like symoblic tattoos (which a red on Clary, as of her canon point). Most runes require activation via a stele (a twig-like tool made of a magical metal called adams) for the wearer to reap the benefits of the effects.
