FEATURES: Various red-hued runes that look like tattoos to the layperson. The color fades over time if she doesn't retrace them. For more details, see the runes section.
DEMEANOR:
DRESS: Usually casual-comfortable but still stylish; tight jeans/pants with looser tops, jackets, and boots. Rarely wears dresses or skirts unless there's an occasion for it.
SCENT: Perfume/hair products she gravitates towards are fruity-florals, specifically orange blossom. She also frequently smells faintly like paint of various types (or paint thinner, sometimes) if she's gotten her hands on supplies recently. Otherwise, just general clean girl smells.

Runes

Clary has various runes on her body that look (from her canon point) like red-hued tattoos. They're actually magical symbols that do various things when activated by a stele, but without explanation/demonstration or Shadowhunter familiarity, it just looks like Clary is into adorning her body with art. A rune bible from the creators (which includes ones added at later canon points and also a change in coloration to make them stand out more in later seasons, which has no in-universe explanation) is here, a tumblr giftset with the correct colors is here, and a wiki page for more comprehensive design/details is here.

As of her canon point, the runes Clary has are:

— deflect/block - left outer bicep
— heal - right side of neck
— protected - left breast area
— nyx/nightvision - right scapula-ish area
— courage in combat - right outer bicep
— unseen - upper left forearm (near elbow bend)
— visible - upper right forearm (near elbow bend)
